My Girl 2 in 35mm

My Girl 2 in 35mm

The film picks up in 1974, two years after the tragic events of My Girl (1991), with a now teenaged Vada Sultenfuss (Anna Chlumsky) much wiser but puzzled about adolescence. When tasked with a school assignment during spring break, Vada centers the project around her mother which leads her to take a trip to Los Angeles. While unearthing details about the mother she lost too soon, Vada’s research contributes to her own coming of age as she ventures across town. My Girl 2 exhibits Los Angeles tinged with nostalgia, showcasing iconic landmarks in the city and capturing an era that has long passed.
