Drop-In Workshop for Families: Stop-Motion Animation

Drop-In Workshop for Families: Stop-Motion Animation

Join us in the Shirley Temple Education Studio for a stop-motion workshop!

The Education team invites families to join museum educators every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings to create, learn, and have fun!

This month’s workshops are inspired by the themes of friendship we see in our Family Matinee series. We see the creation of a friendship with Dog and Robot in Robot Dreams (2023), the hilarious friendship of Shrek and Donkey continue in Shrek 2 (2004), and the magical friendship between Howl and Sophie in Howl’s Moving Castle (2004). Families can create stop-motion animations highlighting their own stories of friendship.

Join us anytime at the times listed below in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.

  • Dates: Saturdays, January 4, 11, and 18

  • Time: 12:30–2:30pm

  • Location: Shirley Temple Education Studio, LL1

  • Ages: Workshops are designed for all ages

  • Cost: All workshops are free with museum admission and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Museum admission is free for youth ages 17 and under.
