PST ART + Science Family Festival

Nov 9–11, 2024

Have you ever been completely enamored with colors on the big screen? Come visit us this weekend to learn about color theory and to create your own abstract animations with our free drop-in workshop on the Walt Disney Company Piazza, from 10am to 5pm, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Our educators will teach you how to use a color wheel to mix watercolors. Once you create your perfect hues, you’ll paint images for your own abstract animated stop-motion clip. If you need some inspiration for your project, on Sunday and Monday, we’ll be screening a series of experimental animated shorts, known for their use of color.

Before you head inside for the short films, take your picture with our life-sized Oscar® statue or grab a taco from the Fanny’s pop up.

Aside from our outdoor activities, we’ll be screening the Wizard of Oz in 4K on Saturday afternoon for $5. If you want to see the inspiration behind these events, check out our new exhibition Color in Motion: Chromatic Explorations in Cinema inside the exhibition halls. Children under 17 can visit the museum free of charge.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
