Sadat visually weaves in this fantastical lore while anchoring the film in a documentary-like feel, as we follow two youths, Qodrat and Sediqa. But while the village lives in fear of the wolves, in the end it’s not this animal they must run from.

Sadat’s fiction debut is immersed in the world of a group of shepherd children in a remote village in Afghanistan. The youth live in awe of the legendary Kashmir wolf, who is said to walk on two legs and shapeshift into the form of a beautiful fairy. Sadat visually weaves in this fantastical lore while anchoring the film in a documentary-like feel, as we follow two youths, Qodrat and Sediqa. But while the village lives in fear of the wolves, in the end it’s not this animal they must run from.
