John Chambers won the second-ever Honorary Award for makeup for his remarkable prosthetics that turned actors Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter, and Maurice Evans into talking apes for this witty science-fiction classic starring Charlton Heston as a cynical astronaut who finds himself marooned on a planet where humans are the inferior species. The screening will be preceded by an introduction detailing the efforts undertaken for this new restoration with Extended Dynamic Range (EDR) audio.
