Seven-year-old Olive and her dysfunctional family pile into a trouble-plagued Volkswagen van and road-trip to a child beauty contest in this lively comedy-drama directed by the team of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and produced by Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa, David T. Friendly, Peter Saraf, and Marc Turtletaub. The film received four nominations including Best Picture. Michael Arndt’s Oscar-winning original screenplay was brought to vivid life by a stellar cast including Supporting Actress nominee Abigail Breslin and Supporting Actor winner Alan Arkin.
