Judas and the Black Messiah

Judas and the Black Messiah

To avoid criminal charges, Bill O’Neal (LaKeith Stanfield) accepts a plea deal from the FBI to become an informant. In this compelling thriller based on historical accounts, O’Neal infiltrates the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party to get information on deputy chairman Fred Hampton (Daniel Kaluuya), targeted by the FBI as a radical threat. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, and Best Supporting Actor for both Stanfield and Kaluuya, who took home the Oscar. The film also won an Oscar for the original song “Fight For You” by H.E.R., Dernst Emile II, and Tiara Thomas.
