Flashdance in 4K

Flashdance in 4K

“Just a steel town girl on a Saturday night”: Jennifer Beals is Alex, a welder who moonlights in a nightclub to support her dream of becoming a professional ballerina. This sleeper hit brought the MTV music video aesthetic to the big screen and helped establish director Adrian Lyne and producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. The film’s Oscar nominations include two for Original Song, for “Maniac” and the winning title song, “Flashdance…What A Feeling.” Afro-Latina lyricist and performer Irene Cara, who shared the award with Keith Forsey and Giorgio Moroder, became the first Black woman to win an Oscar in a non-acting category.
