Drop-In Workshops for Families
Drop-In Workshops for Families
Create buttons featuring stars and themes from Regeneration: Black Cinema 1898-1971.
The Youth Programs team invites families to join museum educators on the first three Saturdays of every month to be inspired by the museum’s exhibitions and screenings to learn, create, and have fun!
Our August drop-in workshops will focus on film stars and themes from our newest exhibition, Regeneration: Black Cinema 1898-1971, opening to the public on August 21.
Create your own button designs and ones featuring legendary tap-dancing duo The Nicholas Brothers, actor Lena Horne, and jazz trumpeter Louis Armstrong. Learn about the life of Academy Award-winning actor Hattie McDaniel and create a postcard expressing your gratitude for her accomplishments and what you see as the future of Black cinema.
Join us anytime from 12:30pm to 2:30pm in the Shirley Temple Education Studio on the museum’s Lower Level.
Check back soon for upcoming workshop themes!
If you have any questions or need assistance planning your visit, please email museumeducation@oscars.org.
