Boyz N the Hood in 4K

Boyz N the Hood in 4K

John Singleton’s feature filmmaking debut earned nominations for Original Screenplay and Directing, making him the first Black nominee in the latter category and still the youngest to date—he was 24 years old at the time. The cast of this powerful drama was equally impressive. Ice Cube, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Morris Chestnut gave memorable performances at the start of their careers, as three friends navigating the struggles and dangers of life in South Central Los Angeles, while Laurence Fishburne and Angela Bassett delivered strong support in their roles as Gooding’s parents.

DIRECTED/WRITTEN BY: John Singleton. WITH: Laurence Fishburne, Ice Cube, Cuba Gooding Jr., Nia Long. 1991. 108 min. USA. Color. English. 4K DCP.
