The film earned additional nominations for Best Picture, Directing, Cinematography (Matthew Libatique), and Film Editing (Andrew Weisblum), while Portman’s performance was supported by a stellar cast including Vincent Cassel as her demanding director, Mila Kunis and Winona Ryder as rival dancers, and the great Barbara Hershey as Portman’s loving but controlling mother.
