Animation and Me: Drop-in and Draw

Be inspired to draw along to images pulled from the Academy's extensive animation art collection with special guests and museum educators in the Animation & Me gallery.

Join Rick Farmiloe—an animator for over 40 years who has worked for Walt Disney Studios, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, Cartoon Network, and Laika, among others—for a Drop-in and Draw session.

Museum Educators will provide paper and pencils for visitors to draw along with Farmiloe.

His credits include The Great Mouse Detective (1986), Oliver and Company (1988), The Little Mermaid (1989), The Rescuers Down Under (1990), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Swan Princess (1994), The Prince of Egypt (1998), Road to El Dorado (2000), Shrek (2001), Curious George (2006), The Simpsons Movie (2007), Boxtrolls (2014), and Wendell and Wild (2022).

Some of the sidekicks Farmiloe has animated include Scuttle (The Little Mermaid), Lefou (Beauty and the Beast), and Abu (Aladdin). In addition to continuing to work in the animation business, he teaches animation at Laguna College of Art and Design.
