Join us for movie trivia at the Academy Museum with our friends from Cinephile and the Pure Cinema Podcast! The night’s theme is all things horror. For museum members only.

Join us for a thrilling and chilling evening of movie trivia with our friends from Cinephile on Sunday, October 27, from 4:30pm to 7pm.

Mingle with your fellow movie buffs and show off your knowledge of all things horror films. Dress to impress and you could win a special prize during our costume contest. Plus, we’ll be joined by Elric Kane and Brian Saur from the Pure Cinema Podcast, and a few surprise guests, to call a round of trivia!

Tickets are $10 for museum members and $20 for member guests. Complimentary wine, beer, and snacks will be provided. Purchase the Cinephile card game to enjoy at home and receive $5 off your trivia ticket.

Cinephile Game Night is the ultimate trivia night for film nerds, movie geeks, and cinephiles. Featuring a mix of movie trivia and other cinephile games like Six Degrees, Filmography, and Movie-Actor, Cinephile Game Night is a trivia night like no other. Since 2019, Cinephile has brought their one-of-a-kind live events to the New York Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Museum of the Moving Image, Alamo Drafthouse, and more.

Pure Cinema Podcast is a weekly film podcast hosted by Elric Kane (of the Shock Waves Podcast) and Brian Saur (of the Rupert Pupkin Speaks film blog) featuring discussions of new films, old films, double features, cult movies, filmmakers, and movie lists among a smorgasbord of other cinema-related things.

Costume Policy: The following are not allowed when dressing in costume at the Academy Museum: full body paint, functional props or weapons, and/or full-face coverings. Guests in costume are subject to search at the discretion of Academy Museum staff at any time, and we reserve the right to refuse entry for any reason.

Notice of Filming: This event will be photographed for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. By entering the premises, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or otherwise recorded and grant the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures permission to use the photographs and/or audiovisual recordings in which visitors appear for archival, documentary, publicity, advertising, or other purposes.

If you do not wish to be photographed, recorded, or appear under these conditions, please inform an Academy Museum staff member following the completion of the event.
